Head of Sales

About you:

The Head of Sales will be responsible for delivering revenue and profit targets across domestic and international retail customers inclusive of big box, specialty and online retailers.  S/he will lead a team charged with managing both direct customer relationships and sales representation agency relationships.  Working closely with the brand marketing team, this leader will be responsible for executing channel strategy to drive brand objectives and profitable business growth. S/he will also collaborate closely with finance, demand planning and supply chain colleagues to effectively forecast and manage the ongoing business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver revenue and profitability across domestic and international retailers (traditional and online).
  • Manage direct relationships with big box, specialty and online retailers to deliver revenue targets, manage supply chain planning and execution, and invest trade marketing and promotion budgets to drive growth.
  • Oversee sales representation agencies in their efforts to achieve 4moms brand objectives and drive growth with retailers.
  • Develop account specific strategies and detailed plans to achieve revenue growth and market share targets across product categories including maximizing the impact of new product launches.  Aligns 4moms and customer strategies to create win/win programs.
  • Work with Finance and Demand Planning to develop accurate sales forecasts and achieve targeted forecast accuracy.  Provide insight and ongoing forecast updates through S&OP process.
  • Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to provide ongoing results analysis and develop action plans to address issues and maximize opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive activity and shopper trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage direct report(s), working collaboratively to achieve team objectives and providing coaching to support development.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on sales experience working with big box retailers
  • 3+ years of demonstrated success managing sales representation agencies preferred
  • 3+ years of experience managing direct reports
  • Has consistently managed double digit sales growth
  • Branded consumer goods experience required, premium brand experience in durable goods category strongly preferred
  • Solid analytic skills – ability to extract insights and sell with data
  • Track record of innovative strategic thinking combined with pragmatic, roll-up-the-sleeves execution and results delivery
  • Skilled and experienced negotiator
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to motivate and persuade
  • Self-starter, willingness, can-do attitude
  • Must be able to work under pressure and extended hours when required
  • 20-30% travel
